Frequently Asked Questions

How much do your guitars cost?

A loaded question and it depends on how much you choose to load up on options! But generally, we find that the average cost of a BennVogel Custom Guitar between $2500-$3000.

How custom is custom-made?

We have recommendations and guidelines and can walk you thru the process, but you will ultimately choose the body style, wood type for the body, the neck and the fretboard. You will also choose the radius of the neck, number of frets, tuners, pickups, bridge type, saddles, knob style, pick guard color, switch plate, etc. Most importantly, you will choose the body color and the artwork pattern and colors. It may seem a little intimidating, but don’t worry as we have recommendations for each of the styles and combos. We are full of advice (some say we are just full of it!) but our goal is to make a unique, one-of-a -kind instrument for you that will be your go-to axe for years to come.

What body styles can I choose from?

Currently, we offer a T-Style and a S-Style body. We may add others overtime but feel we have dialed these styles in and are comfortable with the resonance, sound quality and components. The Dinky style body is a special custom order and we are happy to discuss it if you really dig it and want one like Evan Dunn’s killer axe on our website (see Artist Series). We do not yet offer a Jazz master style or any Bass guitar styles yet, they are on deck.

What body woods can I choose from?

Alder, Ash, and Mahogany.

What neck woods can I choose from?

Maple, Roasted Maple, Ash, Mahogany.

What fretboard woods can I choose from?

Ebony, Maple, Pao Ferro, Rosewood.

How do I pay?

Paypal, credit card (or gold bars). Note: you don’t have to have a paypal account to pay us, you can pay by credit card on the paypal website.

When do I pay and do I have to make a deposit?

After you have decided on your body style, components  etc. and filled out the order specification sheet for final confirmation, we require a 50% deposit.

Do I get updates on the progress along the way?

Oh yeah, we chat, email, we text, etc. We make ourselves available to our customers and love to discuss guitars in general as well as specifics and in depth configurations. Dr Waldvogel (school of hard knocks) can go as far down the resonance, frequency, acoustics rabbit hole as you wish.

What if i have something custom in mind that is outside of the descriptions above?

Please give us a call and let’s discuss. We live for client feedback and are always looking for something new.
